The first teaser trailer of The Legend Of Tarzan has been released online.
Fans have been given their first full look at next summer’s retelling of the classic wild man tale, and the upcoming epic looks set to deliver on all fronts.
Leading man Alexander Skarsgard’s impressive physique takes centre stage in the teaser clip, while his on-screen chemistry with Margot Robbie is also revealed in the clip.
Starting with breath-taking landscape views of the jungle, which reveals the scale of production on the flick, an ominous voice over can be heard as the early story of Tarzan is shown on the screen.
The male voice is heard saying: ‘The jungle consumes everything. It preys on the old, the sick, the wounded… it preys on the weak, but never the strong.’
Australian beauty Margot, who sports red locks for her role as Jane, can then be seen telling a mystery man: ‘He is no normal man. He was thought to be an evil spirit, a ghost in the trees. No man ever started with less.’
The two minute trailer also involves an ample about of vine swinging, impressive CGI effects and a lot of gorillas as fans patiently await the chance to see the blockbuster when it hits screens in 2016.
The David Yates-helmed film starts with Tarzan out of the jungle, a decade removed from his jungle home and completely established in the British upper class.
Tarzan, now living as John Clayton III aka Lord Greystoke, is invited back to the Congo to serve as a trade emissary of Parliament, unaware that he is a pawn in a deadly convergence of greed and revenge, masterminded by the Belgian, Captain Leon Rom.
But those behind the murderous plot have no idea what they are about to unleash.
The film stars a host of talented stars with the likes of Samuel L. Jackson, Djimon Hounsou and Christoph Waltz playing major roles.
Discussing the reboot's fresh approach to the timeless tale, Swedish hunk Alexander told USA Today: 'It's almost the opposite of the classic tale, where it's about taming the beast.
This is about a man who's holding back and slowly as you peel off the layers, he reverts back to a more animalistic state and lets that side of his personality out.'
Meanwhile, director David told the site that the film was a way to return moviegoers to a Africa in a romantic way as he said: 'They haven’t been there for an awfully long time.'
The Legend Of Tarzan opens in Australia on July 1 and the United Kingdom on July 8 2016.
