I don't understand this logic: purposefully run nude across a field in
view of thousands of people, and many thousands more on TV, but suddenly
cover up as soon as security catches you.
My best guess: the adrenaline of the moment wore off and she became
self-conscious. It's the same logic that leads a girl to walk outside in
a bikini but freak out if you see her in her bra.

That doesn't make any sense. Women tend to wear bikinis because they
want show off their bodies, they're intentionally going out in little
clothing because it's considered normal and they probably want people to
look at them.
A woman who gets caught in her bra wasn't intending to be seen in a
bra thus the embarrassment. Your first point about the adrenaline
wearing off is spot on though. Once she's calmed down and more attention
is brought to her being naked she's suddenly more aware of it.
