And many years is kind of low stretch, more like thousands of years since probably caveman days when we slowly domesticated the wolf. Its pretty amazing though how so many breeds of dogs have come to be from the wolf. And now more recent with designer breeds, some that cant mate and some that can. My sister has had this morkie she bought in Destin Florida while she was living there. Well in 2009 when Daphne, the dog, was almost 2, she moved back home. My sister wanted to get a male morkie to breed her and my daughter wanted one for herself so my mother and I went in half and bought a morkie from a local breeder. Both Daphne and Harry Potter are first gen morkies with one parent being a yorkie and the other a maltese. Daphne looks more maltese while harry looks more yorkie. Well a couple of years ago this Christmas they had 3 babies. Henry looks like a really big yorkie, hes bigger than Daphne and Harry together,. Romeo looks more maltese and has this thicker white curlier hair, hes almost as big as henry, Then there is Mayce, Shes very small, a little smaller than Harry and looks just like Harry. When they were first born Henry was strawberry blonde, still is, Romeo was all white, still is, and mayce was all black, now she has black grey and brown. When they were little I called them my lil cracka my lil ginga and my lil nigga. I thought it was just too funny how each one was a different color and all 3 had racist names for them, well ginga isn't a racist name but its what the British called Redheads, gingers. Now that mayce has changed color it doesn't work anymore but I would have people laughing when then asked their names Id say his one here is lil cracka, and this one is lil ginga and this one is my lil nigga.
